'It is the verve factor which works admirably for Mer Brother Ki Dulhan which doesn't have much to boast about in the story department. The film tries to remain high spirited throughout, both in terms of the narrative and the performances and mostly succeeds in keeping the smiles coming. All in all, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan holds out a promise for a pleasant weekend viewing.

What’s Good: The entertaining screenplay; the emotional undercurrent of the drama; Katrina Kaif’s fantastic performance; the hit music and the eye-pleasing song picturisations. What’s Bad: The screenplay dips at a few places; a few comic scenes seem forced. The emotional undercurrents in the drama make it more than just a light-hearted comedy. The dialogues are good and entertaining at the same time. The youth will definitely identify more with the dialogues than the older generation.Verdict: Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has reasonable entertainment value, very good music, exciting song picturisations which will all result in a good run at the box-office.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan tries hard to do a Hrishikesh Mukherjee in a Yash Raj set up but is held back by a middling script that banks excessively on charisma, camaraderie and a common malady among present-day aspiring filmmakers -- fanboyism. As the maverick Dulhan-to-be, Katrina overshadows her co-stars and a lumpy screenplay by lending her uninhibited fervor to some of MBKD's funniest moments. At the end of the day, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a pretty ordinary effort. It's the kind of movie where everyone looks catalogue cool and beams with enthusiasm to make the going-ons appear droll and exciting. And though one's a sourpuss for not buying it, I'll take the risk of being one.

MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN oscillates between mundane to sad after showing an initial spark of brilliance. So much time wasted in the 'I love you' nonsense that in the last scene, you feel sorry for the dads of the boy and girl. There's not much on offer in this film. Whatever is there is finished off in the first half hour. After that it drags. The twist in the tale, too, is far-fetched, not becoming of an intelligent love story.SORRY BHAI (pun intended), this is just not working.

'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' is a strictly-by-the-template rom com. Not any old rom com, but a Yashraj one. Cue clean-cut hero. Smashing heroine. Good-looking second lead who nearly steals the show. Supportive parents. The second half is a plodding, utterly predictable we-know-where-we-have-to-get-to but don’t-quite-know-how-to-get-there affair. This is a Yashraj rom com where funny-smart lines are a substitute for good old passion. Don’t go looking for any. Don’t go looking for any subtle notes, either. There aren’t any.

On paper, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan's dimple must have sounded like a terrific story. a 27-year-old who has lived life as a wild child, growing up in London to a diplomat father, decides to settle down to an arranged marriage. But Katrina Kaif plays her as a curiously blank piece of paper. She tries hard, but if the movie stays even marginally afloat it is because of Imran Khan. Some of it works, a lot of it doesn't.More pappu and less lollipop.

Surely a treat for Katrina’s fans, as it will be an experience to witness her talent. Also, for those Bollywood lovers, who enjoy entertainment sans a need to find a story, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan will be a perfect watch. A second half, which is a bit too dragged acts as an hindrance and slows down the flick to some extent. Imran-Katrina’s first time on-screen jodi can also be a reason to spend on the ticket. Go grab one, as this one is purely a paisa vasool!
