Shor In The City (2011) Listen/Download

There is a strong Mithoon flavor in Roop Kumar Rathod’s already popular Saaware, composed by Harpreet Singh; a wonderfully arranged melody. Harpreet’s other, fresh contribution to the soundtrack, Deem deem tana, has imaginative orchestration, but a middling tune. Agnee’s older hit Ujale baaz continues to enthrall, complete with gripping guitar usage. Kailash Kher’s Babam bam hits a trance-like high as it did in its original release. Beyond these, it is Sachin-Jigar’s three fresh songs that rock the soundtrack! The title song has Agnee’s Mohan in brilliant form leading that pulsating hook, while the incredibly Amit Trivedi’sh Karma Is A Bitch is a cracker – Suraj Jagan’s angsty, high pitch vocals, Priya Panchal and Swati Mukund’s complementing vocals and those unconventional phrases…all make it a compelling listen! The undisputed winner is however Shreya Ghoshal and Tochi Raina’s Saibo. Shreya’s pronunciation of the hard N in words like NaiNa, the way guitar leads the song gradually to hit a high as Tochi Raina enters with ‘Samjhe ishaare’…all add up to create pure magic. Despite the multiplicity of composers and despite two older songs, Shor works wonderfully as a soundtrack with Sachin-Jigar leading the way, close on the heels of their F.A.L.T.U high!
